Joy in the Guild, 15th September 2007 (Warwick)

Hi all,

I arrived at Warwick about noon and made some new friends in the Owners bar.

I watched Molly being saddled and she was in good spirits and she looked well. Liam was given the usual instructions which he knows well, hold her up and come through the field hopefully with a run at the end.

Molly was held up towards the rear and she seemed to be pulling hard and taking time to settle. She did eventually and swinging into the straight was lay in just behind the leaders. Liam pulled her out wide of the field to make her challenge with about a furlong to go but she did not pick up unfortunately. She finished only a couple of lengths behind the winner with a blanket covering places for the minor honours.

Liam said he pulled her wide of the field as he did not want to get blocked in. Coming into the straight he said he thought she would win but she did not pick as he had hoped. She will be winning though he said in that grade of race.

Back into the bar to watch Muffin run a super race I thought. I bet you have all had a great time at Goodwood.

Well done to both Molly and Muffin on gallant runs.

I look forward to the race report from Goodwood.
