His sire, Mujahid was champion 2-year-old in Europe in 1988 winning 3 races from 6f to 7f at 2 years. - most notably the Dewhurst, a Group 1 at Newmarket. He stayed a mile at three years and was placed in the 2,000 Guineas, the James Seymour Stakes and the Earl of Sefton Stakes (two Group 1's and a Group 3). He is from Northern Dancer, via Danzig, on the paternal side, and Storm Cat on the dam's.

The Dam, Pearly River, won two races: 7 furlongs as a 2-year-old and then over 12 furlongs later. Importantly, she is the dam of 4 winners from 5 foals - the other being unraced to date. Her grand sire was that wonderful horse, Shirley Heights.

The dam, About Face, was unraced due to injury and has so far only produced one winner. But there is loads of black type associated with the second dam, Pushkar, including Bijou D'Inde who won over $280,000 in prize money, including victory in the St. James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot (Group 1).
