An
oval course of 1m 6f with a chute to provide a 1m 2f start and
a straight run-in of four fulongs, gradually rising until levelling
off in the final 100y. The run-in extends to allow a straight
mile, which is against the collar all the way. Newcastle is
a galloping track with the final climb making it a test of stamina
and is not one for short runners.

Road: 4 miles Noth of the city on the A6125 (near the A1). Car
and coach parking free.
By
Rail: Newcastle Central Station (from King's Cross), a free
bus service operates from South Gosforth and Regent Centre Metro
Station.
