A
straight six furlongs with a pear-shaped loop course of 1m 5f
from a start in front of the stands and a run-in of five and
a half furlongs. The turns are easy on the loop. The track is
undulating with a dip (which can be very testing in wet weather)
about three furlongs out and then rises to level out for the
last 150y. A course where judgement and experience can make
a considerable difference.
