CATTERICK Racecourse

Catterick Racecourse, Catterick Bridge, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL10 7PE.

Tel: 01748-811478

An oval, undulating course of 1m 180y with two chutes, one for seven furlong and another for five furlong starts, and a straight run-in of three furlongs. The five furlong course is downhill throughout, sharply at first, and jinks left-handed at the junction of the courses. The seven furlong track joins the round course at the six furlong gate and is slightly downhill to the home turn. This sharp track is entirely unsuitable for long-striding gallopers and is often a specialists' track for both horse and jockey.

By Road: The course is adjacent to the A1, 1 mile Noth-West of the town on the A6136. There is a free car park.

By Rail: Darlington Station. Special buses to the course (14 miles).
