A wide, relatively flat oval track of just over 1m 4f. An extension to the back straight provides a 1m 3f course with a sweeping turn at the top of the track to join the straight course four fulongs from the winning post. The straight six furlongs falls slightly for some three and a half furlongs and then rises slightly. In general, this is a very fair galloping course.

By Road: East of the town on the A758. Free parking for buses and cars.

By Rail: Ayr station (trains on the half hour from Glasgow Central). Journey time 55 minutes. Buses and taxis also to the course.
