As
a racehorse owner, one is typically allowed 6 free 'badges'
(depending on the racecourse) enabling the owners and their
guests into the special facilities on the course including the
owners' and trainers' bar and the members bars and restaurants.
You are also permitted to go into the parade ring prior to the
running of your horse - and of course the winner's enclosure
if your horse is first or placed. An owner may take additional
guests, but that will incur an extra cost (typically around
£10). At most racecourses children enter free.
The
Racing Guild allocates the free badges for race meetings to
our owners on a pro rota basis enabling us to accommodate all
owners.
If
the guild has more than one horse running at the same meeting,
then owners badges are increased pro rata (for example, with
two horses running the total free badge allocation will be 12).
Please
note that these allocations and the general procedures associated
with racecourses may be subject to change and any such changes
are beyond the control of The Racing Guild. The committee will,
however, negotiate with the relevant authorities to achieve
the most favourable deal for our owners.
